In honor of all things magical as we get closer to Halloween, we decided to take one of our Harry Potter trivia games off the shelf. In addition to getting into the spirit of the season, we could determine who remembers the most about the first book!
Game Night Harry Potter Trivia is all about bragging rights! Who knows Harry the best?
Game Night: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Trivia Game
What is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Trivia Game?
In this classic version of a trivia game, you will find familiar components, such as the trivia cards with multiple question categories. The game includes charms, spells, and curses.
Charms are your required victory counters. Spells can help you advance towards the goal; getting into your house common room with all of the required charms. Curses will slow you down and are punishment for lack of knowledge!
Features of this Harry Potter Trivia Game:
- You have the option to answer without multiple choice
- Answering by multiple choice gets you one charm
- Answering without choices gets you two charms!
- If you answer incorrectly, you will be cursed, so it is a double set-back
- Passing or landing on a spell space, gets you a spell that can help you or hurt opponents, so advancing quickly around the board is helpful.
Is it worth pulling this game off the shelf?
Even though this trivia game only covers the first book, it is a classic.
The first book is the most sold and most read of the series and a worthy trivia game for your time. You might think you would miss all of the trivia from the other six books, but there is plenty here for a game and you can enhance your Harry Potter street cred by memorizing some of these tidbits.
This isn’t a once-a-week game, but is nice to play with friends now and then and worthy of pulling off the shelf once or twice a year.
Which Wizard Tag Co-Founder was the Harry Potter Trivia Night Victor?
Cally tried hard, but Jon’s knowledge of first-book trivia was superior…at first! Then she ran into a streak of easy successful questions and took the lead. She got the right number of charms to enter her house. Despite being sent to all four detention areas six times; two of them twice, she managed to beat Jon in the trivia race. His perfect school record of no detention didn’t count for anything in the end. The lesson (which Harry, Ron, and Hermione didn’t need to learn) is that in order to succeed in Hogwarts, you need to break some rules!
